La Torre di Pisa appare più volte ne I Simpson, dalla citazione nel 1992 alla riproduzione nel 2011, passando per una presenza reale, se così si può dire per un cartone animato. L'unica volta che i protagonisti vedono la Torre Pendente dal vivo è nell'ottavo episodio della 17a stagione, dal titolo The Italian Bob (Il Bob italiano). Il signor Burns chiede ad Homer di andare in Italia a comprargli un auto, la Lamborgotti Spidirossa. Homer ne approfitta per fare una vacanza con la famiglia, visitando anche Pisa. Successivamente incontreranno la nemesi del figlio Bart, Telespalla Bob, chi si è sposato ed è diventato il sindaco di un paesino italiano, Salsiccia. E che cercherà di uccidere Bart. L'episodio è andato in onda sulla Fox nel 2005 e in Italia nel 2007. La prima volta del campanile di piazza dei Miracoli ne I Simpson è nel settimo episodio della 4a stagione dal titolo Marge Gets a Job (Marge trova lavoro), in cui il giornalista televisivo Kent Brockman paragona la casa dei Simpson alla Torre Pendente di Pisa (in onda in Usa nel 1992, in Italia nel 1994). In tre occasioni inoltre la Torre di Pisa si vede riprodotta in un poster del ristorante italiano Luigi's insieme ad altri manifesti (Venezia, Firenze, una mappa dell'Italia). Accade nella quarta e nella ventiduesima puntata della 14a stagione, oltre che nella terza della 22a. Si tratta di Large Marge del 2002 (2004 in Italia col titolo Marge diventa Large) , Moe Baby Blues del 2003 (Boe babysitter, 2005 in Italia), MoneyBART del 2010 (BaseBART, in Italia 2012). Nella 17a stagione nel settimo 'episodio The Last of the Red Hat Mamas (Le allegri comari di Rossor) del 2005 si scopre che Milhouse ha una nonna toscana,a casa della quale ha passato alcune vacanze, e nei flashback si vede anche una statuetta della Torre di Pisa  a casa della parentel. L'ultima apparizione della Torre di Pisa avviene nel tredicesimo episodio della 23a stagione (2011-12), The Daughter Also Rises (La figlia sorge ancora) , dove in un campo di minigolf compare una miniatura della Torre Pendente.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa as a character of The Simpsons

The Leaning Tower of Pisa has featured several times in the cartoon animationseries The Simpsons.It reached real life representation status (if one candescribe it as such in a cartoon)in an episode during 2011,while it made its original appearance as a citationin the episode first broadcastback in 1992. The only time whenthe main characters were actually shown looking atthe Leaning Tower of Pisa in ‘real cartoon life’ is in the8^th episode of the 17^th year of broadcasting, titled ‘The Italian Bob’. In that episode Mr Burns sendsHomer to Italy to pick up a brand new LamborgottiFasterossacar. But Homerdecides not to go by himself: instead, he decides to take his whole family to Italyas a holiday,also including a trip to Pisa. During their stay the Simpsonsmeet Bart’s worst enemy, Sideshow Bob, who has got marriedsince their last encounter and has become the mayor of a small (fictional) Tuscan town called Salsiccia (sausage). Sideshow Bob will again attempt to murder Bart. This episode was first broadcast in the US on Fox TV channel during 2005 and appeared in Italy later on during 2007.  The Leaning Tower of Pisa actually first appearedin the Simpsons during the 7^th episode of the 4^th year of broadcasting in the instalment titled ‘Marge Gets a Job’, in which the television journalist Kent Brockman compares the Simpsons’ house to the Leaning Tower of Pisa (broadcast in the US in 1992, in Italy during 1994).The Bell Tower of Pisa’s Miracle Square features as a poster in the Italian restaurant Luigi’s together with other pictures (Venice, Florence and a map of Italy) in three more episodes of the Simpsonsseries. Theseare the 4^th and 22^nd episode of the 14^th year of broadcasting and the 3^rd episode of the 22^nd year of broadcasting. The episodes are respectively: Large Marge of 2002 (broadcast in Italy in 2004under the title of Marge becomes Large); Moe Baby Blues of 2003 (2005 in Italy under the name of Moe babysitter); and MoneyBART of 2010 (2012 in Italy with thetitle BaseBART).
